DVC engi­neer­ing man­ual re­leased at its head­quar­ters

Andrew WK Langstieh, Chair­man, DVC re­leased ‘Engi­neer­ing Man­ual of DVC’ on Novem­ber 23 at its head­quar­ters in pres­ence of other se­nior DVC of­fi­cials. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, the Chair­man stated that the man­ual will help to carry out engi­neer­ing prac­tices in a struc­tured man­ner and man­dated for fu­ture ac­tiv­i­ties of the depart­ment.

13th Ru­ral Sports Meet starts at CISF cam­pus ground

The three-day long 13th An­nual Ru­ral Sports Meet be­ing con­ducted by Pa­ni­pat Re­fin­ery and Petro­chem­i­cal Com­plex (PR&PC) com­menced on Novem­ber 25 at CISF cam­pus ground. Ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor BV Rama Gopal, who was the chief guest, in­au­gu­rated the event in the pres­ence of se­nior of­fi­cials of PR&PC, com­man­dant CISF, sarpanches of nearby vil­lages, prin­ci­pals, head­mas­ters and other guests. Over 2,000 stu­dents from 79 schools par­tic­i­pated in the meet.

Travel in­sur­ance claims fol­low­ing train tragedy be­ing pro­cessed

Pro­cess­ing of in­sur­ance pay­outs to sur­vivors and fam­i­lies of the vic­tims of the In­dore–Rajendra Na­gar Ex­press ac­ci­dent, are on the fast track. On Novem­ber 20, the train from In­dore to Patna de­railed near Pukhrayan, Kan­pur, re­sult­ing in 149 deaths. Over 200 peo­ple were also in­jured.

NTPC power sta­tion achieves high­est sin­gle day gen­er­a­tion

The Talcher ther­mal power sta­tion of NTPC achieved its high­est sin­gle day gen­er­a­tion of 11.496 mil­lion units of elec­tric­ity at 104.13% plant load fac­tor (PLF) on Novem­ber 23. With an in­stalled ca­pac­ity of 460 MW, the sta­tion has four units of 60 MW each and two units of 110 MW each. The sta­tion will en­ter its 50th year of op­er­a­tion early next year.

PRSI to show­case the cause of de­mon­eti­sa­tion and cor­rup­tion

Twenty-five chap­ters of Pub­lic Re­la­tions So­ci­ety In­dia (PRSI) will or­gan­ise cam­paigns, pub­lic­ity events, hoard­ings, posters to cre­ate a bridge be­tween the gov­ern­ment's ef­forts and the pub­lic to en­sure that the coun­try is able to en­e­fit from the ini­tia­tive. NTPC-Vind­hy­achal bags IPMA Sil­ver Award for project man­age­ment NTPC Vind­hy­achal bagged the IPMA Sil­ver Award 2016 for project man­age­ment of its Stage–V Unit#13 of 500 MW. The unit was brought ahead of CERC sched­ule and syn­chro­nised on Au­gust 6. The award was re­ceived by Ra­jesh Ku­mar Bhat­na­gar, ED, Vind­hy­achal along with SK Roy ED (OS) from the IPMA or­gan­is­ers at the award cer­e­mony held in War­saw.

Suzuki part­ners with Paytm & HDFC to of­fer cash­less schemes

Suzuki Mo­tor­cy­cle In­dia Pri­vate Lim­ited (SMIPL), a sub­sidiary of twowheeler man­u­fac­tur­ers Suzuki Mo­tor Cor­po­ra­tion, Ja­pan, is now of­fer­ing cash­less schemes on all Suzuki prod­ucts in part­ner­ship with Paytm and HDFC Bank to help cus­tomers dur­ing de­mon­eti­sa­tion. Cus­tomers can book any Suzuki two-wheeler by pay­ing an amount of `20,000 through Paytm and fi­nance the re­main­ing amount, hence elim­i­nat­ing the need for any cash trans­ac­tion. They would also get a `3,000 cash­back from Paytm upon ve­hi­cle de­liv­ery.

World­line launches pre­paid cur­rency card for Bank of Bhutan

World­line an­nounced its ex­pan­sion in Bhutan with the launch of a pre­paid cur­rency/travel card for Bank of Bhutan (BOB). The card will be avail­able to cit­i­zens of Bhutan in INR cur­rency and and has been li­censed by the Royal Mon­e­tary Au­thor­ity of Bhutan (RMA). On this PIN-based pre­paid card, the max­i­mum amount that can be loaded is `50,000 per month for in­di­vid­ual ex­pense as well as for busi­ness trips, as pre­scribed un­der ex­tant RBI/FEMA reg­u­la­tions. With this card, the user can make bal­ance en­quiries and with­draw cash from any ATM across In­dia.
