13th Rural Sports Meet starts at CISF campus ground
The three-day long 13th Annual Rural Sports Meet being conducted by Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex (PR&PC) commenced on November 25 at CISF campus ground. Executive director BV Rama Gopal, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the event in the presence of senior officials of PR&PC, commandant CISF, sarpanches of nearby villages, principals, headmasters and other guests. Over 2,000 students from 79 schools participated in the meet.
Travel insurance claims following train tragedy being processed
Processing of insurance payouts to survivors and families of the victims of the Indore–Rajendra Nagar Express accident, are on the fast track. On November 20, the train from Indore to Patna derailed near Pukhrayan, Kanpur, resulting in 149 deaths. Over 200 people were also injured.
NTPC power station achieves highest single day generation
The Talcher thermal power station of NTPC achieved its highest single day generation of 11.496 million units of electricity at 104.13% plant load factor (PLF) on November 23. With an installed capacity of 460 MW, the station has four units of 60 MW each and two units of 110 MW each. The station will enter its 50th year of operation early next year.

The unit was brought ahead of CERC schedule and synchronised on August 6. The award was received by Rajesh Kumar Bhatnagar, ED, Vindhyachal along with SK Roy ED (OS) from the IPMA organisers at the award ceremony held in Warsaw.

Suzuki partners with Paytm & HDFC to offer cashless schemes
Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), a subsidiary of twowheeler manufacturers Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, is now offering cashless schemes on all Suzuki products in partnership with Paytm and HDFC Bank to help customers during demonetisation. Customers can book any Suzuki two-wheeler by paying an amount of `20,000 through Paytm and finance the remaining amount, hence eliminating the need for any cash transaction. They would also get a `3,000 cashback from Paytm upon vehicle delivery.

Worldline launches prepaid currency card for Bank of Bhutan
Worldline announced its expansion in Bhutan with the launch of a prepaid currency/travel card for Bank of Bhutan (BOB). The card will be available to citizens of Bhutan in INR currency and and has been licensed by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA). On this PIN-based prepaid card, the maximum amount that can be loaded is `50,000 per month for individual expense as well as for business trips, as prescribed under extant RBI/FEMA regulations. With this card, the user can make balance enquiries and withdraw cash from any ATM across India.
