Despite unfavourable reviews, the team of Thugs Of Hindostan had much to cheer about. The adventure drama amassed R52.25 crore on day one, thus shattering previous first day collection records. In collecting R50.75 crore from its Hindi version and R1.50 crore from its Tamil and Telugu counterparts, it has become the first film to cross the R50 croremark on its opening day. Director Vijay Krishna Acharya says, “We’re ecstatic with the love the audience has showered on Thugs to help the film create box office history on day one. We made the film with a vision to provide a pure festive entertainer and the result is extremely gratifying.” TOH also boasts of the biggest Diwali opening ever.
