‘After May 2, people will bid farewell to outsiders’

Abhishek raises doubts as to why no videos of Sitalkuchi firing incident have been made available

RAINA (EAST BURDWAN): The people in Bengal would bid farewell to the ‘trigger-happy' outsiders and the traitors on May 2 after declaration of the Assembly election results, Abhishek Banerjee, presidentofTrinamool Youth Congress said on Tuesday.

Addressing a rally here, Abhishek said: “The triggerhappy outsiders are dreaming to control Bengal after killing the residents. Those who had been gunned down by the CISF jawans in Sitalkuchi had one shortcoming that they were Bengalis,” Banerjee maintained.

Commenting on the incident, Banerjee said it was really surprising that there was no footage of the incident. “It is surprising that 400 to 500 people had gheraoed the Central force personnel but no one had taken any photograph of the incident. This has raised suspicion among the people, who feel that killings are a part of a bigger conspiracy.”

Commenting on the relentless fight put up by Mamata Banerjee with a fractured ankle, Abhishek said: “The BJP leaders have realised the strength of women in Bengal and it is a shame that to counter the only woman Chief Minister in the country, the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defense Minister and their cabinet colleagues along with the Chief Ministers of several states are coming to Bengal like the daily passengers and their sole business is to criticise Mamata Banerjee.”

Taking a dig at BJP, Abhishek said: “It is unfortunate that BJP which claims it to be the largest party in the

world does not talk anything about development. I challenge the BJP leaders to take part in a debate on development. I will present the report card of Mamata Banerjee and they should produce the report card of Modi. They should select the venue and the time; I will be present there with papers.”

Abhishek urged people to the polling stations early in the morning and cast their votes. “Every vote you cast in favour of Trinamool, you not

only strengthen the hands of Mamata Banerjee but also take steps towards driving out the outsiders.”

He said after coming to power for the third consecutive time, the TMC government would ensure that people get ration at their doorsteps and the students would get loans to carry on with their higher studies. “Mamata Banerjee always keeps her promises and votes for her to ensure steady and all round development of Bengal,” he added.
