Congress launches its own digital TV
NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday launched its first dedicated digital media platform INC TV on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The platform will be available on YouTube from April 24, which is observed as National Panchayati Raj Day in memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
While launching the INC TV, Surjewala said that the platform will initially have programmes for eight hours, which would be expanded later. The platform has been created with the aim of conveying the Congress party's “message directly to the people” and raising issues of importance, he said.
According to reports, the
Congress decided to create a media platform, give the perception the party was not getting adequate space in the mainstream media, which it alleges often favoured the ruling BJP.
Present on the occasion, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that even Ambedkar believed that journalism had become a trade in India and it was the BJP that was proving him right today.
He further added that Dalits were suffering under BJP and every 11 minutes, there was an attack on a Dalit in India. “This truth of our country has been long concealed. Our nation has the right to hear the truth. Through INC TV, we aim to bring it out,” Kharge said.
