SC STAYS ARREST OF ALLEGED COAL SCAM KINGPIN ANUP TILL APRIL 27

KOLKATA: The Supreme Court has extended the stay on alleged coal smuggling kingpin Anup Majhi alias Lala’s arrest on Thursday. Majhi was earlier summoned repeatedly but he did not appear until the apex court imposed stay on his arrest. After that, Majhi appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers multiple times. The stay on Majhi’s arrest was earlier granted till April 6. On April 6, the stay was extended till April 13. Again, the stay was extended till April 15. On Thursday, the period of extension was further extended till April 27. However, Majhi will have to appear before the investigating officers whenever asked.
