KOLKATA: Indian Secular Front (ISF) will not field any candidate in place of Congress candidate Rezaul Haque from Samserganj Assembly constituen­cy in Murshidaba­d, who died of COVID-19 on Thursday. Haque, 46, was initially admitted to a private hospital in Jangipur on Wednesday after he complained of breathing problem. He was later shifted to a medical facility in Kolkata after his health condition deteriorat­ed. He breathed his last at 5 am. The ISF, which has partnered with the Left- Congress alliance, is contesting from 27 seats. “We will not field IFS candidate from Samserganj Assembly constituen­cy. There is no question of conducting meeting with Congress or CPI(M). Congress will field another candidate from Samserganj,” said Simul Soren, president of the ISF.
