SAMSERGANJ: ISF NOT TO FIELD NOMINEE
KOLKATA: Indian Secular Front (ISF) will not field any candidate in place of Congress candidate Rezaul Haque from Samserganj Assembly constituency in Murshidabad, who died of COVID-19 on Thursday. Haque, 46, was initially admitted to a private hospital in Jangipur on Wednesday after he complained of breathing problem. He was later shifted to a medical facility in Kolkata after his health condition deteriorated. He breathed his last at 5 am. The ISF, which has partnered with the Left- Congress alliance, is contesting from 27 seats. “We will not field IFS candidate from Samserganj Assembly constituency. There is no question of conducting meeting with Congress or CPI(M). Congress will field another candidate from Samserganj,” said Simul Soren, president of the ISF.
