Over 1800 prosecuted for not wearing masks since April 1

Kolkata: Over 1800 people were prosecuted till date since April 1 for not wearing masks in Kolkata.

On Wednesday, cops were seen making people aware of the situation and urging them to wear masks at several crowded places across the city. About 167 people were prosecuted for not wearing masks on Wednesday.

Since April 1, 1857 people were prosecuted till Wednesday night.

Apart from prosecuting, police personnel also distributed masks among the people as well.

Meawnhile, Kolkata Police stepped up measures to spread awareness about Covid protocol among people.

Police are also taking stringent action against the people, who are found not wearing masks. Steps are being taken to senitise people.
