KOLKATA: Eastern Railway (ER) on Friday refuted media reports mentioning that 13 pairs of local trains remained cancelled in the Sealdah North Section after rise in infections among Railway employees. “There may be some sporadic incidents of cancellation of

EMU locals in suburban sections on a day-to-day basis of less patronised routes keeping in view the operational requirement of crew balancing and rake balancing,” said an official. He added that sufficient numbers of EMU locals are running over all the sections in ER and more and more long-distance trains are gradually being brought into service.
