EC NOTICE TO SUJATA MONDAL KHAN

KOLKATA: The Election Commission on Friday issued a show-cause notice to TMC leader Sujata Mondal Khan for her alleged comments on Scheduled Castes. The notice said she should also explain why her status as ‘star campaigner’ should not be withdrawn and has been asked to explain her stand within 24 hours, failing which the poll panel will take a decision without further reference to her. The BJP had moved the poll panel with a complaint against her and the Commission after examining her statements had found that her comments had violated the MCC.
