Bikash Mishra remanded in 7-days CBI custody

KOLKATA: The accused in the coal and cattle smuggling case—Bikash Mishra, who was arrested by the Enforcemen­t Directorat­e (ED) from New Delhi on March 16, was remanded in Central Bureau of Investigat­ion (CBI) custody for seven days on Friday.

Mishra was remanded in ED custody. After the custody period was over, the accused was sent to judicial custody and was lodged at Tihar jail. Meanwhile, CBI sought custody of Mishra on the basis of a production warrant. It was submitted before the Tihar jail authoritie­s. On the basis of the warrant, Mishra was sent to Asansol.

On Thursday, a team of Delhi police brought him to Asansol and on Friday he was produced before the Special CBI court.
