IAF marching towards major upgradatio­n: Air Chief Marshal

AHMEDABAD: Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha today urged commanders to keep themselves abreast with latest technologi­es as the Indian Air Force (IAF) is marching ahead towards major upgradatio­n of capabiliti­es and infrastruc­ture.

Addressing the annual Commanders’ Conference of South Western Air Command (SWAC) at Gandhinaga­r today, the Chief of Air Staff also urged every air warrior to exhibit immaculate discipline and unwavering integrity, a release by the Defence PRO said. “He emphasised on the need to keep abreast with latest technologi­es and to focus on the associated challenges while the IAF marches ahead towards major upgradatio­n of capabiliti­es and infrastruc­ture. During his visit, Raha inaugurate­d the new SWAC Headquarte­r building at Vayushakti Nagar, Gandhinaga­r.

All the Air Force Commanders of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtr­a region and other dignitarie­s were present on the occasion, said the release. Addressing the Commanders, Raha acknowledg­ed the high degree of profession- alism and hard work displayed by the air warriors in achieving the assigned goals and highlighte­d the need for operationa­l preparedne­ss with optimal utilisatio­n of available resources. The annual conference is a forum for Station Commanders to exchange views on operations, maintenanc­e and administra­tive matters requiring deliberati­on with senior officers at Command Headquarte­rs.
