NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, a doctor in an NDMC hospital, two darkroom assistants and a CPWD gardener has been accused of gang-rape of a girl who worked as a lab technician in the South Delhibased NDMC hospital. The doctor and a technician have been arrested whereas efforts are being made to nab the other accused.

A girl approached Delhi Police South Campus alleging that she has been gang-raped by Charak Palika Hospital doctor and employees in the months of October and November on the pretext of providing her a job in the hospital.

The police immediately swung into action and registered an FIR against the four accused. Teams were formed to arrest the accused at the earliest seeing the gravity of the matter.

The complainant stated that while she was receiving professional training at Charak Palika Hospital (run by NDMC), she was lured on the pretext of providing employment and thereafter physically assaulted by darkroom assistants Krishan Pal (53), who used to stay in the staff quarters and Surender (50), a resident of Sonepat. This happened in the month of October this year.

Thereafter, Krishan Pal coerced the complainant into non-consensual relationship with Dr Afzal Ali Khan (40), a resident of Jamia Nagar and Dharam Singh (40), a resident of Najafgarh. The assaults by the accused doctor Afzal Ali and Dharam Singh were committed in the month of November 2016.

It has also been alleged that the complainant was made to pay money in order to secure employment.

Meanwhile, sources in Delhi Police stated that the girl has also alleged that the doctor made objectionable video clips and often blackmailed her to make it viral on social media if she resisted his moves.

“The girl came to our hospital in March and left in September this year. The alleged incident happened afterwards when she wasn’t a part of our hospital. However, it is a very unfortunate incident,” said Ranveer Singh, Director Charak Hospital.

“Accused Krishan Pal and Dr Afzal have been arrested. Accused Surender and Dharam Singh are absconding. Raids are being conducted at their probable hideouts and they shall be arrested soon,” said a senior police officer.
