NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) along with Gautam Buddh Nagar Police arrested a father-son duo for their involvement in a real estate fraud. They had managed extract Rs 20 crore from prospective flat buyers. The accused floated a real estate brokerage firm named “Spacera Developers” in sector 63 Noida and lured unsuspecting investors by promising huge return on investments and taking booking for flats by fradulently showing that they were in partnership with top builders in some big ticket realty projects.

Surendra Dogra and his son Kunal were nabbed by UP STF team along with Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Sunday from Mahamaya flyover. The police said that they were absconding from the city after duping investors to the tune of Rs 20 crore. Several cases have been registered against them in police stations of Sector 58, Sector 39 and also in some police stations of Delhi. The Gautam Buddh Nagar police also declared them as wanted criminals.

R.K Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force said “As per the fake schemes, the accused showed their partnership in the projects of some well known builders and pocketed a huge amount of money to allegedly get people flats in those projects.

They also floated a real estate brokerage firm in January 2015 after making some profits through fake flat bookings. They hoodwinked investors by promising them flats in high profile projects like Mascot Manorath in Noida Extension and Casa Greens in Greater Noida. They also claimed that they were part of several other projects.

Luck ran out for the con duo, when Ashish Bhattacharya, a resident of Sarita Vihar in East Delhi, was duped by them. Ashish invested Rs 87 lakhs against a flat but no booking was made in his name in the project. After realising he had been made to sign on fake documents he registered an FIR against in Noida Sector 39 police station and police started an investigation. The cops then discovered that there are several others who had been conned by the father-son duo.

“A case of fraud has been registered against them in Sector 39 police station.

We are monitoring the financial transactions to ascertain where they channelised the money. We are also going through their records to figure out how many more had fallen into their trap,” Mishra added.
