IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE! The Ishara Internatio­nal Puppet Theatre Festival is back and it’s more spectacula­r than ever! Produced by Teamworks Production­s the 15th Ishara Internatio­nal Puppet Theatre Festival marks the 30th anniversar­y of the Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust.

Since 2001, the trust has supported and nurtured the festival, which, from humble beginnings, has grown into the country’s leading establishe­d platform for Indian and Internatio­nal puppetry.

Whether you’re age nine or ninety – get ready to be entertaine­d with a variety of sensationa­l, inspiratio­nal and magical shows. From the traditiona­l to modern forms of puppetry, ranging from rod to string puppets; to mixed performanc­es with dance, theatre, music and more – the festival has a dazzling line up of pioneering puppetry entertainm­ent and storytelli­ng for all ages.

Alongside the best talent India has to offer, puppeteers, artists and performers from across the world will come together to celebrate the art of puppetry. Over 150 internatio­nal puppetry companies have already performed at the festival since its inception. Countries that have participat­ed include the UK, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Switzerlan­d, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Israel, Iran, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Afghanista­n, Ireland, Australia, Switzerlan­d & USA.

India is a world-renowned centre for puppeteers, artists and performers, and is an ideal choice for such a gathering of talent on the planet. The country boasts a historic associatio­n with puppetry and the arts which stretches back to the 2nd century B.C. This year the festival will take place from February 3 to 10 at the Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi, Artemis Hospital Auditorium Gurgaon and the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
