NOIDA: The director-duo of Webwork Company, Anurag Garg and Sandesh Verma, were sent to police remand for four days by Surajpur Court on Tuesday. The company is alleged of duping over forty thousand investors on the name of ‘click like’ scheme.

Both the directors of the ponzi scheme company were arrested by the police on Friday from the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Surajpur where the duo came to plead innocence and claim that their company was running a fair online trading business. They were produced before the Surajpur Court following the complaints of defalcation of Rs 260 crore.

Dinesh Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Noida, said, “Fulfilling our demands of handing over both the accused directors of the company to police custody for further probe, the honourable court has given the police four days’ time to investigate the case and further interrogate them. The orders will come to action from Wednesday and we will take the investigation procedure to bring out further details”.

“Previously both the directors were to be presented before the court on Monday but due to some reasons, it got delayed to Tuesday and as per court’s orders, they will be under police custody till Saturday. The fourday police custody will help us dig deep into the case. We will also try to find out if there is any link between Webwork and Ablaze Company” added Yadav. Webwork has allegedly been involved in cheating people along the lines of Ablaze Info Solutions Private Limited, whose director Anubhav Mittal too was recently arrested.
