Reaching Ranchi will no longer be a time-consuming affair

- DHIRENDRA KUMAR

RANCHI: Good news for frequent commuters between Ranchi and Jamshedpur as a Los Angeles-based company has proposed the new age high-speed transport technology to the state of Jharkhand. As per the proposal, it will reduce the journey time, Ranchi-dhanbad (146 km) and Ranchi- Bokaro (110 km) to few minutes. At present, the distance between Bokaro and Dhanbad from Ranchi is covered in three to four hours and sometimes even more.

Chairman of the Hyperloop, Bibop G Gresta, said that the new transport would connect the industrial hubs of Bokaro and Dhanbad to the state capital of Jharkhand in much less time with less cost.

Unveiling his plans at the Momentum Jharkhand summit, Gresta said, “The pro- posed transport system better known as the Hyperloop technology can be commissioned in 38 months. This will slack out the cost and travel time incurred travelling between these cities from Ranchi.”

While addressing the ‘Session on Infrastructure Development: Investments and Opportunities in Jharkhand, Gresta said, “The venture is sustainable and the investment accrued can be recovered in six to eight years. It can transport 3400 people in an hour and is ten times safer than other modes of transport.” The session was attended by senior government officials and Minister of State of Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha.

Hyperloop has also approached the Maharashtra government with a proposal to connect Mumbai and Pune in 25 minutes. The proposed transport will work at the speed of 1200km/hour and will run in a near vacuum environment through a tube.

Apart from this, several other investment proposals showered in from prospective investors but with an appeal to expedite project proposals. Sinha said, “Momentum Jharkhand is an example of how to develop Jharkhand by tapping the immense potential that state has to offer.”

He also talked of the proposed airport in Hazaribagh that would soon be inaugurated and the opening of few of the world’s largest mines in the same district.
