Member of Krishan Pahalwan gang held

Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a wanted criminal, Satpal, who was a member of the notorious Krishan Pahalwan gang.

47-year-old Satpal, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, had along with Krishan Pahalwan and Rajesh alias Nahari committed the sensationa­l murder of one Naresh from Delhi’s Kanjhawala in 1992 in Adarsh Nagar area of Delhi.

Satpal was also arrested for the murder of Narender Rathi, another Sonipat resident, by police in Murthal in 2006.

He had also earlier been arrested in a TADA case in Tilak Nagar in 1993.

More recently, Satpal was arrested in 2007from Delhi in a case of triple murder in Haryana’s Kharkhoda.

During interrogat­ion, Satpal disclosed that he was an active member of the Krishan Pahalwan gang.

Satpal had first come into contact with Pahalwan through Rajesh. He and a few other members of the gang were arrested by Crime Branch in 2004 and a rifle was recovered from his possession.

“On the basis of his criminal background, Satpal was now enjoying his life by purchasing disputed properties and by settlement of petty issues in the area of Kanwar Singh Nagar in Nangloi, Delhi.

“Since 2012, he was residing in Kanwar Singh Nagar and usually avoided visiting his village Rohna in Sonipat district and he was almost sure that police could not approach him,” said Madhur Verma, DCP.
