Opening an all out war against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyender Jain, the Opposition parties on Monday demanded investigation by the agencies and sought the immediate resignation of the duo.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party state president Manoj Tiwari on Monday demanded the Kejriwal should either resign or go to jail, after a sacked minister hurled corruption charges at him.

Tiwari also pointed out the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor’s tweet on May 10, 2013, where he had said “Should people just resign for corruption or should they be sent to jail for corruption?”

Tiwari asked Kejriwal to decide his fate as per this tweet. “Either go to jail or resign. Please decide Arvind Kejriwal, as being the CM of Delhi you can decide for people of Delhi. Only you said it,” Tiwari told reporters on Monday.

He also stated that Kejriwal has no moral right to hold the post of Chief Minister and must resign immediately.

“I have said a number of times that Kejriwal is directly involved in corruption. Mishra’s allegations have proved our point,” Tiwari said.

The state BJP president further said that a case must be filed on the basis of the allegations made by Mishra, who was sacked from the Delhi government on Saturday night.

Additionally, the Delhi BJP legal team filed a legal petition against the Delhi Chief Minister, on basis of the evidence which came to light after the statements of sacked Water Minister Kapil Mishra.

On the directions of BJP Delhi president, BJP legal team member advocate Neeraj filed a petition before the Lokayukta of Delhi Justice Reva Khetrapal on Monday, in which he complained about the corrupt activities that the Chief Minister and PWD Minister Satyender Jain indulged in.

The petitioner requested the Lokayukta that she should order a detailed inquiry into the case and if Kejriwal or Jain were guilty then legal action should be taken against them.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Congress on Monday wrote to Lieu- tenant Governor Anil Baijal and demanded the prosecution of the Chief Minister and his ministers on the basis of the Shunglu Committee report, which came to the public eye in March.

The party also decided to approach the court after getting a prior sanction from the LG.

“We demand the sanction to prosecute Kejriwal and his ministers under the Prevention of Corruption Act, based on the Shunglu Committee report,” Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said at a press conference.

Maken said that the LG had the power to sanction the prosecution, but neither he nore the Centre had taken any action on the report, despite more than five months having been passed since its submission.

“If Baijal failed to accord sanction for prosecution, it will be then clear that the both (the Centre and Baijal) are helping Kejriwal to get out from this crisis,” Maken said.

He added that the Congress will launch a signature campaign in Delhi on Tuesday and hand over 10 lakh signatures to Kejriwal as a referendum on the AAP.
