BONDING OVER ART

-

Bringing together artists from different spheres of art under one roof, ‘Bondings’, an art exhibition will be inaugurated on October 13 at All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society by Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, New Delhi.

“This exhibition organized by Amrita Bera is very eclectic. There are drawings, charcoal work, oil and acrylic on canvas, sculptures in bronze and fiber – all that an art connoisseur would like to see. If you are an art lover, you will get to see a bit of everything here,” said Renu Rana, the curator of the maiden art exhibition and also the director of Art Inc.

From experienced artists to young, emerging first-time exhibitors, ‘Bondings’ will see the participation of some unique talent in a natural environment that seeks to create discursive opportunities, promote the exchanging of ideas, and inspire them to access, engage and create art on a higher level. “All the six artists belong to different spheres of art and this is the place where they are actually bonding together over one part of art which is fine arts,” explained Renu.

All the artists are not only visual artists; they are immersed in other branches of art. Vandana Bist is an illustrator for children’s books. Himadri Bhattacharya grew up on a fodder of literature and art. Kumud Grover is a senior sculptor who has been associated with Triveni Kala Sangam for a couple of decades and Subhashish Bhaduri is a self-taught painter and poet.

Half the proceedings from this exhibition will go towards purchasing books and stationery for Sarthak Prayas – a non-government organization, working towards the education of less privileged children and empowering women by teaching them skill sets.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 11 am to 7 pm until October 19.
