Fog hits train services

NEW DELHI: At least eight trains were cancelled and over 69 delayed due to fog in northern India on Monday, officials said. A Northern Railway official asserted, “Eight trains have been cancelled and over 69 delayed due to fog in several parts of northern India.” The official also said that it had to reschedule over 22 trains.

The cancelled trains include –New Delhi-varanasi Mahamana Express, Delhiazamg­arh Kaifiyat Express, Anand Vihar-mau Express, Srigangana­gar-delhi Intercity, Delhi-fazlika Intercity, Delhi-alipurdwar Mahananda Express and Raxual-delhi Sadbhawana Express.

The Rajendra Nagar Terminal-new Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express was delayed by over 24 hours while the Sitamarhi-anand Vihar Lichavi Express was delayed by over 25 hours. The New Delhi-malda Town Awadh Assam Express was running late by over 15 hours, while Jaynagar-delhi Shaheed Express was delayed by over 19 hours.

The New Delhi-bhubaneshw­ar Rajdhani Express which was scheduled to depart at 5.05 p.m. was further reschedule­d to 7.30 pm.
