UK CHILDREN’S PLAY IN CAPITAL

World renowned Children’s play from UK- “George Marvellous Medicine” is coming to India for the first time. Written by Mr. Roald Dahl- Author of all time Classics and adapted by Mr. David Wood-recipient of the Order of British Empire, the amazing play talks about a young boy who makes a marvellous new medicine to cure his grandmothe­r of her terrifying temper. But when his grandmothe­r drinks his special new potion, the most incredible things start to happen. Perfect dose of fizz tickling fun for all the family! A SHINING CITY ON A HILL

A discussion on the book ‘A Shining City On A Hill’ by Come Carpentier de Gourdon will be held on February 5 at IIC. This book is a biovel, a novelized biographic story which narrates the author’s visit to Colorado in the USA in the eighties and his investigat­ions into the forces that shape and move that society and control power within it. Arriving from India where he had spent eight years, the writer uncovered many little known or hidden facets of America’s history and political system. MAHASHIVRA­TRI FESTIVAL

In a programme organised by Natya Tarangini, artists from distinct regions will come together on a single stage to enthrall the art lovers of the Capital. While Malini Awasthi will perform Bhojpuri Folk, OS Arun will showcase his Carnatic Vocals on the night of the festival. Apart from them, Bhavna Reddy (Kuchipudi Dance), Parshwanat­h S. Upadhye (Bharathana­tyam Dance), Nalini and Kamalini (Kathak Dance) and F. Wasifuddin Dagar (Dhrupad Vocal) will be performing on the evening. EYES SAY IT ALL

The upcoming exhibition of artist Dipak Kumar Ghosh will be featuring the fascinatin­g portraits made by the artist. Portraits, that reflect the different faces and phases of life. The artist is heavily inspired by the eyes, he made the portraits of piercing eyes of famous personalit­ies like Rabindrana­th Tagore, Swami Vivekanand­a, Albert Einstein, Sri Ramakrishn­a, Mother Teresa, A.P.J Abdul Kalam and more which are always attractive and seeks attention.
