NEVER PUSHED ME DOWN: DJ TERI MIKO

- OUR CORRESPONDENT

With hard-hitting Trap Beats infused with Electronic Sounds, DJ Teri Miko has shared the stage with bass giants like Marshmello, Slander, Dyro, and Quintino. It won’t be long before she becomes a household name in the music industry. “I never miss a chance to experience live artists because every time I learn something new from them. It can be some interesting musical trick or just an attitude in the backstage. So I recommend to all upcoming artists to attend live concerts,” said Miko about sharing the stage with big names in the industry.

Even though she, like every other working woman, faced stereotypes in the music industry for being a DJ, Miko never stopped working towards her passion. “From my initial stages, I faced a lot of stereotypes in Djing but I take it as a real challenge which helps me to grow to prove myself. But such stereotypes never pushed me down,” says the ‘Kolavo’ hitmaker. “It is not easy, but nothing is impossible and I believe that one day No.1 DJ in the world will be a girl,” she further added.

Being a woman in this field is not the only challenge that DJS have to face. There is a common misconception about DJS being involved in drugs and alcoholic drinks. But Teri Miko, who is known for her high energy on stage believes otherwise. “I think this is an old stereotype which is coming to us from the 90s rave times. I know a lot of artists personally right now who are into a healthy lifestyle because when you give so much energy every night during your gigs, you have to stay clean in order to survive. And I follow this very strictly,” she asserted.
