‘OFFICERS ON LEAVE SANS PERMISSION’

- SAYANTAN GHOSH

NEW DELHI: The logjam in the Delhi government is becoming complex with each passing day.

While the IAS officers have announced that discussion is possible only after an apology from the CM, the top rank officials have stopped communication with ministers.

The ministers claimed that the officials have also stopped taking permission for leaves from the ministers.

“The food commissioner sent me an email saying that he has taken leave for a week but he has never sought any permission from me,” said Delhi Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain.

The minister added that the Cabinet gave the food commissioner responsibility to formulate the home delivery of ration scheme but without any notice, he took the leave.

Hussain told Millennium Post, “We are not getting basic cooperation from the officials, how will we work?”

In the same context, Deputy CM and CM have hinted that the officials are backing the ration mafias of the city.

Each day, the complexity of the relationship between the officials and the ministers is increasing.

“I have talked to officials and I think we can sort out this logjam but it will take some time,” said Rajendra Pal Gautam, the social welfare minister of Delhi, who has met the officials to normalise the situation.

Meanwhile, the IAS association members have welcomed the effort of Gautam and said that the association is happy that the minister has come forward to discuss the situation.

“We have clearly mentioned that the only way to sort out the problem is a written apology from the Chief Minister,” noted the members.

The officials are regularly making silent protests and they have held a march of Wednesday protesting the alleged derogatory words used by Sisodia. However, the Deputy CM gave no reaction on the comments by the association.
