Suncity Colony of Gurugram facing water crisis

GURUGRAM: Water crisis has begun affecting the residents of Gurugram even as peak summer is yet to arrive. The latest complaint of low water supply is coming from the Suncity colony that houses over 1200 residents. According to the residentsm the difficult situation is being faced by them for more than four days

The residents are now relying on the public authorities to solve the crisis soon.

With shortage of water supply being a recurrent problem in the Millennium city, the private water tankers are making most of the prevalent crisis.

Even as there are frequent complaints of Private water tankers charging exorbitant sums, most of the city residents are forced to pay higher because there is no supply of water in their households.

The problem of shortage of water supply and low pressure of water is faced by citizens frequently during peak summer seasons of May and June. However, this year large parts of the city are facing water crisis from March itself due to shifting of water pipelines due to developmental works taking place in the city. Quick to cash in on the problem are the private water tankers that are charging hefty amounts from the troubled residents.

Most of the troubled residents have highlighted that the private tankers are charging Rs 1,000 - Rs 1,500 for filling just one water tanker. There have also been complaints that most of the private tankers do not fill the complete tanker by citing shortage of water.
