Unable to pay loan of Rs 52 lakh, man KILLED FINANCIER IN MALVIYA NAGAR

NEW DELHI: The reason behind the murder of financier in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar was a loan which the accused was unable to pay to deceased who usually insulted him on this issue. Police claimed that they arrested four men and apprehende­d one juvenile on Wednesday. The accused were identified as Dinesh (22), Manjot Singh (48), Rajender Singh (33) Rohit Takhur (30) and one juvenile.

On February 8, an informatio­n about quarrel at L-block, Malviya Nagar was received. It was learned that a man identified as Sanjay Chawla (47) was stabbed by unknown persons. During the treatment, he died.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (South) Romil Baaniya stated that during the investigat­ion of the case, it was revealed that the deceased used to provide loan against interest on monthly basis. The suspicion arose on Manjot Singh who used to take the loan from deceased. Some CCTV footage was also scrutinize­d in which the accused were seen roaming around the scene of the crime.

Police claimed that on March 14, they got an informatio­n that two accused (Dinesh and juvenile) will visit Ganda Nala in Chirag Delhi. A trap was laid and accused were nabbed.

During interrogat­ion, the accused disclosed that they committed the murder of the financier at the instructio­n of Rohit, Kale and Vicky and received Rs 35,000 for this act. From the instance of Dinesh, his associates were nabbed.

During probe, Manjot Singh disclosed that he took a loan of Rs 52 lakh from the deceased against monthly interest. Sometimes when he was unable to pay the interest, the deceased Sanjay Chawla usually insulted him. So he decided to take the revenge. Therefore he hatched a conspiracy with the accused

“In order to execute the conspiracy, Dinesh and juvenile did recce of the office and residence of the deceased. On February 8, Dinesh with the help of juvenile followed the deceased from office to residence and Dinesh stabbed the deceased while juvenile kept a watch,” police said.
