- MPOST BUREAU

Mohammed Shami has ruled out all hopes of reuniting with wife Hasin Jahan as their public dispute continues to get murkier.

Shami, in an interview that said he has evidence to prove his innocence in the face of serious allegations made by his wife.

“I made every effort to save the future of my family. But Hasin said she wants to take this to court. I would have done anything to save my family,” Shami said.

“My family members are there in Kolkata for the last seven days, but there has been no response from Hasin’s family. This makes it clear that there is no hope left. All hopes of reuniting with my wife are over,” he added.

Mohammed Shami says Hasin Jahan kept him in the dark about her first marriage.

Shami said he would co-operate with all investigating agencies and hoped for a thorough probe into the matter.

The entire episode has hit Shami hard. Apart from being left out of the new BCCI central contracts, his participation in this year’s Indian Premier League could also be in jeopardy. Meanwhile, BCCI has also asked its Anti-corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) to submit a report on Shami within a week.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has sent the documents related to her complaints against her husband to the BCCI’S Committee of Administrators (COA) chairman Vinod Rai for a probe into her allegations of corruption, her lawyer said on Thursday.
