Plot to kill UP Waqf Board chaiman: An­other held

NEW DELHI: The Spe­cial Cell of Delhi Po­lice on Sun­day said they have ar­rested the fourth ac­cused al­legedly in­volved in the plot to as­sas­si­nate Ut­tar Pradesh Shia Cen­tral Waqf Board chair­man Waseem Rizvi.

Ac­cord­ing to Deputy com­mis­sioner of po­lice (spe­cial cell) PK Kush­wah, the ac­cused was iden­ti­fied as Dhar­men­dra Sharma (42) and ar­rested from Charkhi Dadri in Haryana on Satur­day.

Kush­wah said that the ac­cused was di­rected by un­der­world don Da­wood Ibrahim and his key lieu­tenant Ch­hota Sha­keel to mur­der Rizvi.

On Thurs­day, three men were ar­rested in the case from Bu­land­shahr in Ut­tar Pradesh.

Kush­wah stated that in the past few months, in­puts were re­ceived by Spe­cial Cell that Chotta Sha­keel, un­der di­rec­tions from Da­wood, has been plan­ning some sub­ver­sive ac­tiv­i­ties in In­dia.

“This in­for­ma­tion was fur­ther de­vel­oped, which re­vealed that one Salim from Bu­land­shahr had re­cently re­turned from Dubai and was in con­stant touch with Dubai based un­der­world op­er­a­tives,” said the DCP.

He fur­ther said that Salim’s ac­tiv­i­ties were mon­i­tored, which re­vealed that he and his as­so­ciates Arif and oth­ers were plan­ning to as­sas­si­nate Waseem Rizvi, Chair­man of UP Shia Cen­tral Waqf Board, Lucknow,”
