DU RELEASES FIFTH CUT-OFF

Admissions under fifth cut-off to take place on Thursday, Friday

NEW DELHI: Delhi University on Wednesday released its fifth cut-off list, with admissions to popular honour courses such as BA Economics (Hons), BA English (Hons) and Bcom (Hons) still open at 33 colleges for general category students and Science courses available at 11 colleges.

Officials said that almost 50,000 seats have been filled in DU colleges when the admissions under the fourth cut-off list were closed.

“However, some colleges still have a few seats left under the general category. So they are coming out with a fifth list to fill those seats,” said an official.

Admissions under the fifth cut-off will take place on Thursday and Friday, the DU registrar said in a statement.

Economics (Hons) is available at colleges such as Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (95 per cent), College of Vocational Studies (95 per cent ), Indraprast­ha College for Women (96 per cent) and Kirori Mal (96.5 per cent).

Bcom (Hons) is available at colleges such as Kirori Mal (96.5 per cent) College of Vocational Studies (94.75 per cent), Daulat Ram (95.5 per cent) and Gargi College (95.5 per cent).

English (Hons) is available at 13 colleges, including Hansraj College (95.5 per cent) and Kamala Nehru College (93.25 per cent).

Though many high profile colleges have closed admission in the general category, some seats are available in the reserved categories.

Hans Raj College has closed admission for all courses in the general category, except for BA Programme, which has a cutoff of 91.5 per cent. Hindu College has closed admission in all courses in the general category, except BSC (Hons) Chemistry at 96.66 per cent. Kirori Mal College, meanwhile, has completely closed admission in six courses. However, it still has some seats for Economics (Hons) at 96.5 per cent, BA (Hons) at 87 per cent, Bcom (Hons) 96.25 per cent and Bcom 96.5 per cent.

At Ramjas College, for BA Programme, 93.75 per cent is the cut-off in general category, 85.75 per cent for Persons with Disabiliti­es, and 86 per cent for Kashmiri migrants.

Admission for Economics (Hons) is open for all categories, with 96.25 per cent for general, 91.25 per cent for OBC and 86 per cent for SC. Two more courses for general category students are English (Hons) at 94.5 per cent BA History (Hons) at 94 per cent.

Meanwhile, admission in Gargi College is open for BA (Programme) in all categories. Economics (Hons), English (Hons) and History (Hons) are available for reserved category candidates. For BA Philosophy (Hons), general category candidates require 86.5 per cent.
