NEW DELHI: Hundreds of students thronged Art Faculty on Tuesday to be the part of the release of the first ever survey conducted by the Left affiliated student wing association All India Students Association (AISA), followed by a rally across the North Campus of the Delhi University. “More than 83 percent of the 21,000 DU students surveyed in the opinion poll expressed their dissatisfaction with the Centre. The survey tried to assess the policies of the Modi government based on certain criterias which included Jobs and Placement, Accommodation, Gender violence, Infrastructure, Campus Violence and academic Freedom and Social Discrimination,” said in AISA statement. Moreover, the campaign was carried in 30 colleges of Delhi University.

Kawalpreet Kaur, President of AISA, DU said, “This proves that students believe that BJP-ABVP regime has been the most anti-student regime which has not just spread hate, attacked universities, assaulted teachers and students but has also destroyed the academic Freedom of the campus. Also, it has tried to sell the colleges to the highest bidder in the name of autonomy while issues of college students remain unheeded. Out of 21,456 students who gave their opinion on government's performance on Jobs and Placement, only 3126 (15 percent) said that they were satisfied with it. On the issue of accommodation only 3512 (16 percent) students said that they were satisfied with the Modi government. Meanwhile, on the issue of Transportation only 13 percent (2864) said that they were satisfied with the Modi government.”

“On the question of Gender Violence, only 17 percent (3856) students said that they were satisfied with the Modi government. On the question of Infrastructure improvement, only 20 percent (4,215) said that they were satisfied with the Modi government. Only 18 percent (3,915) students expressed their satisfaction with the Modi government on the question of Academic Freedom. Only 19 percent (4,056) students said that they were satisfied with the Modi government,” said Kawalpreet. The overall result of the Report Card suggested that only 17 percent students were satisfied with the government which means that the government has failed on all grounds.
