Man who faked his death for 15 years finally arrested
NEW DELHI: Crime branch has arrested a man who was not just absconding for 15 years but has also faked his death and prepared his death certificate to dodge the police.
He was wanted for planning and assembling for dacoity. The accused, Madan, was wanted for the offence in Paschim Vihar.
On 17 August, specific information was received by crime branch that in the evening accused Madan would be visiting his native place village Dhudhli, district Shamli, UP. The police team took swift action on the information and at 7.30 pm, it apprehended Madan from his village Dhudhli.
“During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he was arrested in the above-mentioned case in 1999 and after being bailed out he was not attending the court proceedings. Due to this, he was declared a Proclaimed Offender in 2003. Later,

During his hiding, he also supported his family financially and also helped his son to run a garment shop at Gorakhpur. The police said that accused is an illiterate and used to commit the crime outside Delhi NCR from his native place.
He was involved with bad elements since long and is a habitual criminal. He used to commit theft and snatching and disposed of the stolen articles for easy money.
