Man receives bullet injury inside bank

NEW DELHI: A person was injured after he received bullet injury inside a bank in South Delhi’s Defence Colony area.

Police claimed that it was an accidental firing which came out from the gun of the guard who was taken into custody and investigat­ion is going on from all angles.

According to police, the incident came to light on August 21 when they received a PCR call in the police station at 1:30 pm where the caller told that the guard of Vijaya Bank in Defence Colony had fired a gunshot inside the bank.

The police team rushed to the spot. The cops identified the guard as Rudra Pal Singh (a retired army personnel), a resident of Mahipalpur who allegedly opened fire inside the bank injuring one customer named Rajender Singh, a resident of Mithapur in Badarpur. The weapon of offence has been recovered from the spot along with one empty cartridge and five live cartridges and the guard has been taken into custody. Legal action under section 336/337 IPC and 30 Arms Act has been initiated.
