Dogs’ death might be due to respirator­y arrest: PM report

NEW DELHI: A day after seven dogs including puppies were found dead in a housing society in Dwarka, the postmortem report indicted that the deaths might be due to respirator­y arrest.

Police claimed that they have registered a case under section 429 IPC, 11.1(L) Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The investigat­ing agency claimed that in postmortem report, the doctors have indicated that the death might be due to respirator­y arrest due to hypodermic shock. They also found external lacerated injury (multiple injury marks) around the abdominal region including neck. The cops are making inquiries with the residents of the apartment where the corpses were found.

“No CCTV is covering the place of the incident as it is an isolated place near Community Centre situated on the one side of the apartment area. However, footages of all CCTV cameras installed in the apartment are being collected and analyzed to get any clue,” added the police officer.

The incident came to light on Monday after police team received a PCR call regarding the incident which happened inside the premises of a housing society.

“All animals were sent to Dabri Veterinary Hospital where the doctor declared them dead. In social media, a photo of the animal corpses lying on the ground went viral. The Facebook users claimed that there were many cut marks on their bodies. The case is been probed from all angles.
