GURUGRAM: A 37-yearold American national who is working in the UK based multinational firm in Gurugram has filed a police complaint of being sexually molested by her senior who is 50-year-old.

In her complaint, she has mentioned that to her senior not only physically abused her but also tried to pressurize her mentally. She further said that this harassment continued for last one and a half year. According to Gurugram police, the foreign national has been employed by the company for the last three years. Meanwhile, the accused is a Gurugram resident.

As of now, he has not been arrested even though the Gurugram police has filed the charges under 354-A (sexual harassment) and 509 (insulting the modesty of the woman) of the Indian Penal Code. The victim had earlier filed a complaint to the internal committee but seeing no action she approached the Gurugram women police station at Sector-51 on Monday.

“I was subjected to harassment and bullying. My pre- sentations were rejected and I was humiliated and ridiculed with comments of you are not worthy of the company. The communication and behavior of the accused outraged my modesty repeatedly,” the woman has mentioned in her complaint.

“On, one occasion after ridiculing my work, as usual, he bent on his desk and obscenely touched my hand asking what could I offer if forgiven for shoddy work?. I walked out but was shaken by the entire event. These kinds of events took place repeatedly for the last one and a half years. I also spoke about the problem to the office counselor but that did not make any change. Eventually, I decided that I cannot take it anymore,” the complainant further added.

“This is a sensitive matter. The woman is an American national and is employed at a senior position in the company. The accused is her senior. She had earlier raised the issue in the internal committee and had even sought counseling. We have registered the FIR and verifying the facts,” said Inspector Rajbala, SHO, women's police station.
