Doorstep services: 9.8K phone calls connected

NEW DELHI: Residents of Delhi have given a great response to the Delhi Government's historic Door Step Delivery of Services Scheme. Apart from calling on 1076 the helpline number for availing 40-services, huge numbers of people have also registered through the website for availing the services, said a government official.

"With the back-end system, phone lines and operators, increased manifold compared to the day of the launch, no call failed on the fourth day also. However, not all were answered as many of them were on waiting and the unanswered calls are being called back. By 5 pm on Thursday, the total number of calls connected was 71,637. Out of these 13,677 were answered directly when they called; rest are being called back. A confirmati­on SMS is being sent to those callers who were unable to get to the operators by the call centre, the number of messages sent till 5 pm was 37,527," said an official.

He added, a dedicated team has been put up to call back those numbers who were not attended as the line was waiting. On Thursday till 5 pm, the total number of unique numbers called back stood at 8,600 since the launch (4400 on Thursday+4200 on Wednesday). The total number of calls answered and called back for the day (on Thursday) stood at 9,802 till 5 pm (5,402 direct answered calls+4,400 call backs). The total number of appointmen­ts fixed for different services to be availed by the citizens of Delhi was 4,066 till 5 pm on September 13.
