Over 1 L Buprenorphines injection seized
NEW DELHI: In a major breakthrough against narcotic drugs syndicate illegally supplying fake narcotic medicine ‘Tramadol', the Crime Branch has arrested the Proprietor of a distributor firm of Aligarh Vineet Garg alias Banti, a resident of Aligarh, UP and recovered an illegal consignment of 1.68 lakh Buprenorphine injections, which were being sent to multiple destinations through different courier companies.
On August 28, a team of Crime Branch had busted a syndicate and arrested 4 persons belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. They had seized a consignment of illegal ‘Tramadol' Capsules.
During the investigation, it was found that the syndicate was also involved in the ille-
gal supply of another narcotic drug ‘Buprenorphine' through their another associate Vineet Garg alias Bunty, Proprietor of Bunty Pharma, Aligarh, who supplies illegal Buprenorphine after stripping off their labels.
“During further investigation, it was found that two such consignments were in transit through ‘Madhur Courier' of Delhi and ‘Om Logistics' of Aligarh.
“Crime Branch tracked the couriers and seized the illegal consignments thus leading to the recovery of 1.68 lakhs injections of Buprenorphine. Labels of 11,000 injections were found to be stripped off. Pursuant to this, the accused Vineet Garg was arrested,” said Bhishm Singh, DCP crime.
In 2018, one of his acquaintances Harish Singhal along with his associate Sunil Sharma, approached Vineet with a proposal that if he procures certain medicines on their instance and supplies them further, he will earn a handsome profit.
“After this, Sunil Sharma asked him to procure Buprenorphine injections from Ideal Pharma. After procurement, he removed the labels of certain stock of Buprenorphine and supplied them through various courier companies to the parties of Sunil Sharma and Harish Singhal,” said Rajiv Ranjan, Additional CP Crime.
