GREATER NOIDA: With the arrest of two persons, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police busted a gang who forged documents to be produced in court to bail out accused from the courts across the city. The arrest was made from Surajpur court area on Thursday.

“Acting on a tip-off, police raided a park outside court premises and arrested both the accused for preparing fake documents to be presented before the court to bail out accused and criminals from jail,” said Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of police (rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Amit, a native of Gautam Buddh Nagar district and Rajkumar, native of Ghaziabad were arrested from Surajpur court while they had come to be fake witness in a case after producing fake documents for bail. Police said both the accused were working as an agent in a lower court for many advocates. They were well versed with the bail procedures for past many years, police said.

Police recovered fake rubber stamps of government and police departments, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, PAN cards, driving licences, voter ID cards and visiting cards from them.

The police also revealed that several advocates are suspected to be hand in glove with the arrested accused as they had represented the accused in criminal cases and by submitting forged documents got them out on bail.

“Upon interrogating the arrested persons, it was revealed that few advocates from Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad court are also involved with them in the forgery. We have launched a probe into the case and will initiate actions against those found guilty,” a police officer said.
