Two stabbed to death in separate cases

NEW DELHI: Two men were stabbed to death in separate incidents in the national Capital, Delhi Police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, a tea vendor at Tank Road area was found stabbed to death late Friday night.

Police said the victim was identified as Ranjan Biswas. His body had severe stab wounds on the neck and was found by cops in lane II of Tank Road.

Cops said that 55-year-old Biswas had been selling tea in the area for many years. and was 55 years of age.

“He was shifted to LHMC Hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case of murder has been registered. There are clues in the case and we expect to solve the case very soon,” Deputy Commission­er of Police (Central) MS Randhawa said.

In the second incident in Krishna Nagar area in Shahdara district, a scuffle between friends turned ugly when a 20-year-old was stabbed by three of his friends.

The victim Ashok, a resident of West Kanti Nagar, was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Cops said they have registered a case of murder against the three accused, who have been detained.

“The boy was rushed to GTB Hospital, but could not be saved. He received wounds in the abdomen, arm and face,” said Meghna Yadav, Deputy Commission­er of Police (Shahdara).

“The fight took place near Maharana Pratap Park at about 9.30 pm on October 25 between the deceased and his friends. There was an argument between them and the deceased was attacked with a knife,” she added.
