To find bodies of family killed in Wazirabad, cops reach Hapur

NEW DELHI: To find clues about bodies of three members of a Wazirabad-based family who were murdered two years ago, the Delhi Police Crime Branch may seek details of unidentified bodies recovered from the Upper Ganga canal in 2016 in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur from police stations in the canal’s vicinity.

“Through the photograph of the bodies, we can search for the remaining three victims,” said an investigator.

Meanwhile, a police team also went to Hapur for further probe and seeking case papers. Investigators claimed that the canal water diverts into several parts, making it tough to find the bodies dumped in it.

On Thursday, Delhi Police told reporters they arrested Abhishek Pal, who along with a juvenile associate, killed a family of four in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area 2016 and dumped their bodies in Hapur.

The victims included Naina, whose body was found a few days after her murder.

The other victims included her brother Shubham, father Ved Prakash and mother Sadhana, whose bodies are yet to be discovered.

Investigators further claimed that when the accused had gone to dump the bodies, they wanted to dump the two cars used to bring the bodies as well.

Failing to do so, the accused abandoned the cars, one of which was later discovered by UP police and became the first evidence in the case.

Initially, the case was labelled as an honour killing, as Naina’s parents and brother could not be traced.

However, after Pal’s arrest from Outer Ring Road brought to light new information, as he revealed he had murdered the entire family.

“During interrogation, Pal claimed that after the murder he was in depression did not had proper sleep for two to three months but later things went normal,” police further said.

Investigators further claimed that when Abhishek Pal and his juvenile associate had gone to dump the bodies, they wanted to dump the two cars used to bring the bodies as well, but failed
