Ex-army man gunned down: Motive still eludes Gurugram police

To begin with, Sumer held a respectable position of numberdar (village accountant ). Moreover, he was an ex-army man. According to the family members of the deceased, the importance of his position resulted in him being a part of reconciliation between the parties who were embroiled in

legal cases.

Sources indicate that there may be a possibility that disgruntled members not happy with the involvement of Singh may have taken an extreme step to commit the brazen crime.

Meanwhile, the incident again raised the issue of law and order in the city. IMT, Manesar where the incident took place was just a few metres from the police station.

Yet, the three people who are allegedly involved in the crime not only shot dead the ex-army man but was also were able to flee from the spot. Angered by the entire incident, the villagers initially refused to take possession of the body.

On their part, however, the police have begun their investigations and have begun to explore the possibilities that may have led to the coldblooded murder. “It is still not known clearly what could have been the real cause for the murder.

According to the family, there was no enmity which the deceased had with anyone. We are, therefore, trying to explore other factors that may have led to the crime,” said a senior official from the Gurugram police. In the past, dreaded gangsters, gangster’s spouse, realtors, former journalist have been eliminated by their rivals through criminal acts.

On February 11, a person named Sanjay Gujjar lost his life after being shot 17 times in Bilaspur. Recently, a eunuch was shot dead after differences with the rival group on the division of the territory. Also, a disgruntled guard in a fit of rage shot dead judge’s wife and son.
