DJOKOVIC, OSAKA STAY ON TOP

LONDON: Serbian Novak Djokovic stayed on top of the ATP rankings issued on Monday after being crowned at the 2019 Australian Open. Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka of Japan led the WTA women’s tennis rankings, issued on Monday with no changes in the top 10, reports Xinhua news agency. Australian Open champion and the sport’s new superstar Osaka withdrew last week due to a back injury, leaving a big hole to fill for tournament organisers, which they have done with a strong field including three former world number ones.
