Cops foil murder bids with arrest of two gangsters

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has foiled two murder bids with the arrest of two armed shooters of infamous Ashok pradhan gang identified as Naveen and Rahul Dagar. Two country made pistols have been seized along with four live cartridges.

The Crime Branch team developed informatio­n regarding young offenders who used fashionabl­e bikes and carried fire arms to commit offences such as robbery and attempt to murder. On 21 April, secret informatio­n was received by Crime branch regarding two accused,the members of Ashok Pradhan Gang and recently committed armed robbery in the area of Baba Hardas Nagar.

The above said team acted swiftly on the informatio­n and a raid was conducted at Najafgarh drain crossing, DwarkaChha­wla road, Delhi from where accused Naveen, and Rahul, were apprehende­d with the recovery of one countrymad­e pistol and two live cartridges from each of them.

During interrogat­ion, the accused Naveen stated that he resides in Jhajjar, Haryana with his family.

As per his disclosure, one of the cousins of accused Naveen was murdered few years ago by a family having stronghold in the same village he wanted to take revenge for the same.

Accused was a teenager at that time and when he came in contact with one Mohit, a close associate of gangster Ashok Pradhan, he found a way to take the revenge.

After acquiring illegal arms, they tried to murder one person of his village in broad daylight on last Monday at Bahadurgar­h at his shop but that person somehow escaped the attack.

The accused was also inspired by the movies and wanted to earn name and money as a dreaded criminal.

The other accused Rahul Dagar disclosed that he was having enmity with one of his neighbours from his same village and he wanted to eliminate him with help of his associates.
