Man arrested for murdering, dumping body of employer

GREATER NOIDA: A 30-year-old man has been arrested by Gautam Buddh Nagar police for allegedly killing his employer and dumping his body in a river in Dankaur area of Greater Noida.

Cops said that the accused and victim had altercatio­n over money, following which he murdered him by crushing his head with a brick and dumped the body in Kherli river in Dankaur on May 15.

According to police, the deceased Ajeet Singh, a native of sector 36 in Greater Noida was a transporte­r while the accused Raghvendra Tripathi, native of Sant Kabirnagar and currently lived in sector Zu-3 of Greater Noida worked as a driver at deceased's transport company. Samresh Kumar Singh, Station House officer of Dankaur police station said that a feud broke out between them over exchange of some money amid which the accused murdered him while the body was found from the river in Aligarh district on the next day.

“Raghvendra worked as a driver at transport company run by deceased from past six months. An altercatio­n broke out between them over an exchange of Rs 1 lakhs which the deceased owes to the accused. Ajit abused him when Raghvendra asked for the money and on May 15 he killed him with a brick and dumped his body at Kherli river. Police have arrested the accused who confessed to have committed the crime while the brick has also been recovered. He also told police that soon after the incident the accused was constantly changing his hideouts to evade arrest,” said Singh.

The officer further said that the accused was produced before the court and sent to the jail on Monday. “We have booked the accused under section 302 (punishment for murder) and 201 (causing disappeara­nce of evidence of offence) of Indian Penal Code. He was produced before the court and sent to jail on Monday” added Singh.
