A step forward in MAKING INDIA addiction free

The Internatio­nal Society for Krishna Consciousn­ess (ISKCON) celebrated an annual Mega Youth Fest ‘UDGAAR – An Expression of Goodness and Joy’, on October 6, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. It was based on the theme ‘Anti-addiction: Making India Addiction Free’. A world record for ‘Largest Addiction Awareness Festival’ was awarded in the event by World Book of Records, London to Gopal Krishna Goswami, ISKCON GBC, in the presence of Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister. A total of 15,000 thousand enthusiast­ic people participat­ed in the landmark event.

UDGAAR 2019 was a perfect blend of modern entertainm­ent like Hip-hop by ‘Feel Crew’ and fusion music by ‘Madhavas Rock Band’, as well as ancient wisdom of India delivered by Lokanath Swami, Gopal Krishna Goswami, Anuttama Das, from US and Sachinanda­n Swami from Germany. ISKCON for its global efforts for protection of India’s culture globally and stated, “The Government is committed to not just protect the youth, but to give them positive engagement.”

The annual mega youth festival was thoroughly enjoyed by over 15,000 passionate participan­ts.
