NEW DELHI: Technology and overconfidence of the accused involved in killing the man eight years ago led to their arrest. Police said that after the murder, the accused were living happily with no remorse. Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Joy Tirkey said on March 2, 2012, polygraph test of suspect Shakuntala and Kamal was conducted. However, Shakuntala and Kamal were found to be truthful.

The Crime Branch officials managed to obtain Kamal and Shakuntala's brother Raju's consent for the Brain Mapping test before the Court. The Brain Mapping test of both Kamal and Raju was conducted at FSL in Gandhi Nagar.

"The Brain Mapping Test nailed Kamal. It stated that the evidence in the form of experiential knowledge of hypothetical probes indicated that, Kamal had convinced Shakuntala to marry Ravi and then to avoid physical relation with him," said DCP Tirkey. He further added that isolated experiential knowledge responses also signified that Kamal had killed Ravi by strangulating him. After killing Ravi, Kamal had buried his dead body at some secluded place.

The team under ACP (AHTU) Surender Gulia was behind the investigation of the case. "As soon as the case was transferred to crime branch. Kamal with his driver were taken to the place where they had buried the body. They dug up that place and took out the decomposed body. Later they scattered the residual parts on

a 70 kilometer stretch of road between Alwar and Rewari District of Rajasthan and Haryana respectively," the officer said.

Police said that the accused were taken to the spot. JCB was used to dig the spot and more than 25 bones of the deceased were found. The DNA test of the bones and tissue found at Alwar, Rajasthan will be done to establish the identity. "After the murder, Kamal and Shakuntala were confident that no one could arrest them. Later they had a child. They had no remorse for the murder," added an officer.
