GREATER NOIDA: The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration on Friday acquired 30 hectares of land from village Dayanatpur for the construction of Jewar International Airport and handed its physical possession to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Officials said that this is fifteenth instalment of the total

Deputy collector of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Abhay Kumar Singh, who is also the in-charge of Jewar airport project said that the administration is acquiring

lands of only those farmers who have received compensation.

“The administration has to hand over 1,239 hectares of land out of the total 1,334 hectares which is required for the first phase of the project. By far the administration has given physical possession of 78.53 per cent which is 973 hectares of the total required land to YEIDA. The global tender to hire a developer for the proposed airport was floated on May 30 by the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), an agency formed by the UP government for managing the mega project in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
