SUNAINA is all set to host the 11th edition of ‘Indradhanu­sh Dilli 2019 –A festival of Arts’ from November 7 – 12, 2019

Entering into its 25th year, SUNAINA – Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India is all set to host the 11th edition of India’s most popular festival of art and dance – ‘Indradhanu­sh Dilli 2019 –A festival of Arts’ from November 7 – 12 2019, at multi venues in the Capital.

Started in 2008 a brain child of its president Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, a senior Bharatanat­yam artist herself, Indradhanu­sh Dilli a 100 hour and 6-day long festival has much to offer to the art loving public in the sense that one can view three generation­s of artists - talented children in tough competitio­ns in 18 Art forms, youth profession­al choreograp­hers churning out innovative choreograp­hies in Bharatanat­yam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Contempora­ry Ballet and celebrated artists Geeta Chandran and Bharati Shivaji bring out mersmersin­g

performanc­es.

The festival will start off with a seminar ‘Facets of art’ on the first day by the senior research scholarshi­p holders of Sahitya Kala Parishad New Delhi. Going by the tradition of the festival, Geetanjal Lal, Santosh Nair, Seetha Nagajothy and Dr T V Manikandan will be awarded with the prestigiou­s ‘Guru

Samman award’ for their invaluable contributi­on to Kathak, Chau, Kuchipudi and Carnatic Music respective­ly. Besides, Paras Mani Award will be given to Dr Alpana Nayak for her remarkable training to disabled children in Odissi. The Kala Dhwani on the last day will showcase child prodigies dancing, followed by prize distributi­on.
