NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the youth at the Delhi Youth Parliament workshop at Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday. The Delhi Youth Parliament is being organised from November 6-8 to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to familiarise the youth with various legislative procedures of the assembly.

The Delhi Chief Minister said, “This is the first time that outsiders have been permitted to enter the Vidhan Sabha hall. Only the elected representatives are allowed to enter the hall, and even the bureaucrats are allowed to sit in the visitors’ gallery. I hope that this Youth Parliament workshop will aid you in understanding the procedures of the

legislature. I hope that you will

learn about the functioning of the assembly through this workshop.” Kejriwal also said, “In this workshop, you will learn about the parliamentary form of governance and the presidential form of governance in our country. I hope it will also give you a sense of right and wrong, positive and negative. Every form of governance has loopholes, but universally, democracy is supposed to be the best form of governance. We also have various departmental committees in the parliament, which hold deliberation meetings with the officers to ensure proper functioning of various departments.”

GURURGAM: Air quality levels hovered between poor and moderate category. According to CPCB on Wednesday morning the particulate matters of 2.5 microns were registered at 230 micrograms per cubic meter but later came down to moderate levels of 168 micrograms per cubic meter. It is important to note that despite a dip due to the pick up in the wind speed the particulates suspended in the air are still at unhealthy levels. According to the WHO, the safe limit of PM2.5 is 60 and PM 10 is 100.

The Deputy Commissioner Amit Khatri will now be sending a daily report on the action taken against pollution directly to the Chief Secretary Keshani Anand Arora. The senior public officials from Gurugram will also brief the Chief Secretary of the steps and fines that have also been levied on those who violate the laws and cause air pollution in the city. Based on the official report, the maximum number of violations continues to be reported in dumping the construction and demolition waste in which 145 fines have been levied till now, this is fol

lowed by illegal parking (74) burning of waste (41), garbage dumping (30 ).
