Electoral office to start Special Summary revision of voters

According to Delhi Electoral official, over 1.47 crore people have been verified till October

NEW DELHI: As per instructio­n of the Election Commission of India, Delhi Electoral Office decided to start Summary revision of voters from 15 Nov till 16 December. The voters may be added and deleted from electoral list. The final electoral list will be published on 6 January 2020.

According to Delhi Electoral official, over 1.47 crore people in Delhi have been verified till October 31.

Delhi Electoral Office (DEO) has already issued an statements which stated that “It is clarified to the Delhi voters that this is factually wrong and incorrect. There is no intention to delete names of those voters , who are not able to verify themselves under Elector Verificati­on Programme (EVM). Name of all electors will remain in electoral roll. No deletions are done except with due process as laid down by the Election Commission of India(eci). No suo-moto deletions will be done on ground of non-verificati­on under EVP.”

Delhi Electoral official will appeal to all eligible citizens to get themselves enrolled before qualifying date January,2020 during the special Summary revision -2020 will be start fom November 16 till December 16 ,2019.

The final electoral rolls would be published on January 6, 2020 and all necessary preparator­y steps to be taken to conduct the elections ahead of announceme­nt of Delhi Assembly Polls.

Chief Electoral office, Delhi will try to enroll every eligible citizens as voter and to cover

last mile in registrati­on. Special camps for enrollment­s will be organised at all Assembly Constituen­cies locations on November 15- till 16 December.

Providing opportunit­y to general public to check their names in the Electoral Roll and to submit fresh applicatio­ns for inclusions and deletions (Form-6,7 8 and 8A).

Delhi Electoral office will announce a major facilities for verificati­on of the name in Electoral through SMS, BLO and visit voter Centre of Your Assembly constituen­cy etc.
