- DHIRENDRA KUMAR

NEW DELHI: It may be a case of ‘enigma' or ‘ignorance' that after five years of investigation, the premier investigating agency is looking for evidence from general pub

lic in the case of ‘abduction' of 12-year-old schoolgirl Navruna Chakravarty.

In an attempt to ‘connect' the missing dots in the much famous kidnapping case of 2012, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced a reward of Rs10

lakh to anyone providing concrete information regarding the abductors of Navruna Chakravarty, who was kidnapped from her bedroom in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district in the middle of the night on September 18, 2012. The unusual case had prompted the Supreme Court to order a CBI probe, but the agency has been unable to file a chargesheet in the matter.

The special crime branch (SCB) of CBI has put on dozens of posters in Hindi at different strategic locations in Muzaffarpur town wherein the country's premier investigating agency has made an appeal to people to provide important information in the case.

As per the CBI pamphlet,

Navruna was kidnapped from her home after breaking the window and after six days, a body was discovered by police officials. The CBI has now asked for any information that could help them crack the case and announced the Rs 10 lakh reward for it. The posters that have been issued by the SP, CBI, SCB (Patna) has also assured people that the name of the person, who will inform about the suspects, will be kept secret.

Navaruna's parents still believe their daughter is still alive and her captors are at large. They alleged that despite the CBI proving the case for over five-years, the agency failed to get any lead in the case so far. “The CBI has taken over five years, four investigating officers were transferred, but the body or skeleton has not been shown,” said Navruna's father Atulya Chakravarty.
