Meanwhile, senior cops also recommended to hand over the probe in UP home guard scam to crime branch or a state level agency for a fairer probe. Officials informed that upon looking into the data of two months,

May and June, it came to light that fifty percent of the salary drawn for these two months was done by forging the muster rolls to inflate attendance of the home guards thus conducting a fraud suspected to be worth crores.

It also came to light that the maximum number of inflation in attendance during this period was done in Knowledge park police station of Greater Noida. Police are questioning the senior cops and SHOS of those police stations names of whom were involved in the scam. As per data, there are around 500 home guards, including 50 in traffic police department, deployed in Gautam Buddh Nagar. These personnels do not enjoy privileges, including salary or treatment at par with police.
